About the Foundation

Діти підопічні фонду «Соборна Україна»

Soborna Ukraine Foundation is a Ukrainian foundation that has been systematically and comprehensively supporting the families of fallen heroes since 2014 — doing everything possible to give a real chance at a successful, capable, and happy future to children whose lives have been forever changed by loss. We don't stop at one-time help. We stay with families throughout their journey to recovery, offering the full scope of support for as long as it's needed — because lasting change takes time.

2014

In response to the start of Russian aggression, members of CEO Club Ukraine came together to support the families of Ukraine's fallen defenders. Initially, aid was provided to the families of servicemen from the 92nd Separate Mechanized Brigade, the Special Operations Forces, and the National Guard of Ukraine.

When Russia's full-scale invasion began, the scale of need grew beyond anyone's expectations. In response, Soborna Ukraine Foundation was officially founded and soon received 501(c)(3) status in the United States. The foundation then began building its core areas of support: psychological care, education, and financial aid for families.

The foundation now supports more than 500 beneficiaries, providing them with long-term, comprehensive care. The team has grown to more than 30 specialists. To expand its international work, the foundation opens a representative office in Germany.

2025

The number of beneficiaries has grown to more than 1,500. The foundation continues to develop its key areas of work — psychological support, education, recreation, and community — helping families recover after loss and build a future.

The foundation now supports more than 2,500 children and adults. To strengthen international support, Soborna Ukraine Foundation representative office opens in Canada, and the foundation continues to scale its programs both in Ukraine and abroad.

Community

Our values

Unity and Community

Unity and Community

We are part of a shared space where the front line and the home front are connected through responsibility and support. We build a community of trust, mutual respect, and сare — one where every family has something to lean on, and no one is left alone.

Long-Term Impact

Long-Term Impact

We don't chase quick fixes that only create the appearance of help. Our focus is on systemic, lasting change that genuinely improves families' lives — even when it takes more time and more resources.

Dignity and Ethics

Dignity and Ethics

At the heart of our work are the family and the child — their dignity and their boundaries. We treat the experience of loss with respect, we don't use pain as a tool, and we don't seek publicity where quiet support and ethics matter more.

Transparency and Integrity

Transparency and Integrity

We choose honesty as the foundation of everything we do — from communication to financial reporting. Transparency, and staying true to our words and actions, build the trust we work hard to protect.

Innovation and Development

Innovation and Development

We seek out new approaches and solutions to meet today's real challenges. For us, innovation isn't about chasing trends — it's about effectiveness, relevance, and timing.

Faith in the Future

Faith in the Future

We work with the reality of loss, while still looking toward the future. Together with families, we build a sense of stability, hope, and the possibility of moving forward — with dignity and meaning.

Foundation Symbol

The foundation's symbol is the periwinkle (barvinok) — a flower that embodies a quiet but unbreakable force of life.

The foundation's symbol is the periwinkle (barvinok) — a flower that embodies a quiet but unbreakable force of life.

Periwinkle never grows alone.

It spreads through a network, its roots and shoots intertwining. For us, this is a symbol of unity, mutual support, and community — the space where the feeling of "I am not alone" is born. These human connections are critically important in the experience of loss. In traditional Ukrainian culture, the periwinkle is a symbol of life force, the memory of generations, and life's victory over death. It was woven into wreaths and kept as a token of love and the continuation of family lines. It speaks to a kind of memory that doesn't destroy, but gives roots for the future. The shape of our logo is a unified structure, where each element supports the others. This mirrors how we see our mission: recovery becomes possible where an unbroken connection exists — between children, families, professionals, community, and the memory of those no longer physically present. Our identity is about life that continues, and the strength of unity in the darkest of times.

At Soborna Ukraine Foundation, we believe that supporting children means more than just helping them get through loss. It's about giving them back their faith in the future, helping them dream again, and opening up a world of new possibilities.
