The Engaging Learning Methodology is an educational approach developed by Soborna Ukraine in collaboration with teacher-methodologists and psychologists. It combines high-quality learning materials, interactive formats, practical assignments, and sensitivity to children’s psychological well-being. The methodology was initially developed within the Foundation’s educational programs and has now become part of the everyday school environment.

The first stage of the pilot covers two subjects: mathematics and the history of Ukraine. The materials are currently being used by 21 mathematics teachers and 18 history teachers.

The implementation of the methodology at Ivan Bohun Kyiv Military Lyceum is particularly important. The school serves teenagers, many of whom plan to pursue careers in the military, and its students include children of active-duty service members and fallen Ukrainian Defenders. In such an environment, an approach that considers not only students’ academic needs but also their psychological well-being is especially important.

The pilot allows Soborna Ukraine to assess how the methodology works beyond the Foundation’s educational programs, with teachers and children from different regions of Ukraine. The next stage is systematic scaling: expanding the network of participating schools, training new teachers, developing and improving the teaching materials, and collecting and analyzing results.

Soborna Ukraine’s goal is to make the Engaging Learning Methodology a practical tool that teachers can use every day, while giving children the opportunity not only to absorb new material, but to understand it better, stay engaged in learning, and gradually build confidence in their own abilities.
