The Unity Flag Becomes Part of a Bigger Story

August 24, 2026Сommunity

Ahead of Ukraine’s Independence Day, CEO Club presented Soborna Ukraine Foundation with a large Ukrainian flag measuring 7.34 metres in length. The flag later became part of the filming of a video produced for the Come Back Alive Foundation.

Ahead of Independence Day, our children carried the flag. Together, they became part of a major Independence Day video shoot for the Come Back Alive Foundation. It was important to us that this symbol was placed in their hands: the children we work for today and support in creating opportunities for their future.

We thank CEO Club for the flag, which will continue its journey: from a symbol of unity, into the hands of children, and onward into Ukraine’s shared story.

After filming the video, we asked the children what Ukraine’s Independence Day means to them. Their answers say it far better than any words adults could come up with. You can find their responses on Soborna Ukraine Foundation’s social media channels.

We would also like to thank Toronto-Kyiv for their hospitality and for providing the space where our children gathered that day. And, of course, for the ice cream that made the day a little sweeter.

There is one more important story of support connected to this day. Until the end of September, every ice cream purchased at Bassano restaurant, located on the grounds of Toronto-Kyiv, will contribute to supporting families of fallen Defenders of Ukraine.
